Using Temporary Staff is becoming more and more common. The numbers of people in the flexible labour market is on the up and as such more and more companies are reaping the rewards of temporary workers. There are a multitude of reasons for using temporary workers. At this time of year the most common reason is holiday and outside of the summer holiday season, maternity, sickness cover, staffing for peak loads, or utilising someone on a special project are all very standard reasons for taking on temporary or contract staff. Temporary staffing also allows businesses to keep costs to a minimum. They have the benefit of the temporary staff when they need them and only when they need them, without the usual array of fixed costs that the permanent labour market incurs when their skills and capacity are not necessarily needed.
