Make sure all references are value and at their education qualifications are genuine.
If you don’t have the skills in house, don’t cut corners, outsource
Ensure you have the necessary linguistic skills to screen foreign candidates
Don’t rely on gut feelings and first impressions, people aren’t always what they seem
Incorrect facts, dates not matching, gaps in their employment history should not be ignored, don’t be afraid to probe further, they will be working for you and not the other way around!
Conduct a credit check if their role involve moving or authorising company or client money, failing to do so could put your insurance at risk
Check the last 5 years (where applicable) of employement history
Consider implementing a criminal record if the role depands discretion and handling of sensitive information, once again its YOUR company that is at risk!
