The long term unemployed and single parents will be forced into work or into training in plans unveiled by the Government. Unemployment benefit claimants who refuse to attend skills training after six months on the dole would have their benefits axed.
A skilles screening test will be launched to identify numeracy, literacy and language problems which could prevent employment, also incapacity claimants under 25 will be subject to more rigorous measures to get them back in work.
