A recent report by the right-wing think-tank Policy Exchange, revealed that if class sizes are to be maintained at the current average of 26.2, up to 18,000 primary school teachers will be needed by 2015.
To obtain this figure roughly 20 per cent, or 3,000 more primary school teachers will have to be trained each year.
