Internet giants Amazon announced the creation of 900 jobs in a second major expansion in Scotland. The company are to set up a customer service call centre in Edinburgh. Creating 500 permanent and 400 temporary jobs - mainly during peak Christmas periods - over the next five years.
Staff will handle customer queries and offer technical support for Amazon’s ebook reader Kindle and their MP3 services.
Economic development quango Scottish Enterprise have approved a £1.8million grant to help train staff for the new call centre.
