The Marriott Close new shopping and leisure complex devlopment will now start in January 2008 with completion set for autumn 2009. The £50m devlopment by Simons Developments will include 14 retail units, a 5 screen cinema, 3 restaurants, a multi-storey car park with 590 spaces and around 190 homes near Oxford.
Already signed up to the scheme are Debenhams, New Look, Cineworld, Frankie & Benny’s, Starbucks and Cafe Rouge. The aim of the devlopment is to enhance the commercial vitality and viability of Witney town centre and offering greater services and facilities for the local community. This will obviously create many part time and temp jobs for the local communty in the retail sector.
