…be careful!! A recent article in The Times highlighted the plight of workers coming to the UK and working in conditions that are highly unsatifisfactory. A recent case of employees working for Dominos Pizza has show that people coming to UK to find work from abroad i.e. migrant workers, can fall victim to unscrupulous employment agencies as they are unable to understand their employment rights and are often struggling with language difficulties. Unions have intervened and hope to compensate the individuals concerned. It would seem that this is currently a hot topic with workers unions who are going to much greater lengths to work with migrant workers. There suffering of greater exploitation than their British peers is something that definitely needs to be looked at.
