Much has changed in the land of social networking recently with the world of Facebook. The new concept that follows this fad is now social not-working. Staff are now spending up to an hour a day “networking” in whatever format possible. Londoners are the worst with the rest of the country following just behind in terms of minutes lost in the workplace.
It is a growing concern that people are consistently being distracted from their work. The internet is a great medium but it will not be long before businesses put stringent work guidelines in place to make sure that employees maximise there time in the workplace. Some are already looking into options to set aside specific times for people so that they do not suffer adhoc distractions….

I found that after 2 months of using facebook I now realise that the people I’ve lost touch with over the last few years was for a reason….. Why anyone wouldn’t just pick up the phone or just check the site occasionally for new contacts is beyond me!!!!
As for people using it in the work place… no comment, people always find an excuse to look out the window and this is just another version of it!
