Asda has taken the lead and is encouraging other employers to pay their temporary workers in food and retail temporary jobs the same amount as they do permanent workers.
The Times Online reported that a deal between Asda and the union Unite meant that temporary workers would receive equal pay to permanent workers who do the same job or service.
It is estimated that temporary jobs will really help retailers during the recovery phase of the economy and that companies should therefore look after them.
