You might not believe this but Harrow Council have been undertaking a 1 year trial using a Voice Risk Analysis (VRA) system to find out whether their staff were not telling the truth when they say that they are too ill to work. It is thought that the Council has saved some £400,000 + in misallocated employee benefits claims. It’ll make you think twice about pulling a sickie in future…..

There is a lot of coverage about the Harrow Council Lie Detector trials in the media and it seems clear that their tests relate to screening benefit applications for possible risk and not testing staff reporting sick.
