A new £19m business support programme announced yesterday could create around 1,000 new jobs over the next six years in the South West Wales area.
The South West Wales Flexible Business Finance Scheme is the first local-authority-let project to receive European Union funding totalling £8.9m.
Under the scheme almost 2,000 grants of up to £5,000 will be avaliable to help new and existing businesses grow and expad. The project covers Carmarthenshire, Swansea, Pembrokeshire and Neath Port Talbot, will support 1,400 existing companies and 400 new start ups.
