There has been a generic increase in the number of employers that are offering some kind of flexible working to their staff.
A survey of 1,462 workplaces across the UK, commissioned by the Department for Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform (BERR), found 95% of employers offer some form of flexible working for staff.
The survey also found:
* Part-time working was now available in 92% of working environments.
* 74% of employers are more flexible around people working reduced hours.
* 41% of employers now offer compressed hours working
* Job sharing and flexible hours is on the up.
* Up to 92% of employers will now consider a request to change working patterns from employees
More companies are also providing childcare facilities or other facilities and methods to help parents (staff) combine work with their family commitments.
