The Ministry of Defence has finally approved the £4 billion construction of two aircraft carries for the Royal Navy, securing about 10,000 jobs in British shipyards. This will also create another 1000 jobs. The signing of the these contracts for the construction of HMS Queen Elizabeth and HMS Prince of Wales also gives the go-ahead to the merger of the marine interests of BAE Systems and VT.
