Upto 2000Sussex jobs will be created in plan upgrade the Thameslink trains.
Siemens had beaten Derby-based Bombardier Transportation’s consortium to be the preferred bidder for the contract for 1,200 new carriages, doubling the peak time capacity.
The contract is a potential problem for Bombardier who employ 3,000 people in Derby and just missed out on the contract at a time where new business is being sought.
