Finally the government has had to accept that is has lost it’s battle over the controversial changes to the Highly Skilled Migrant Programme otherwise known as the HSMP.
The government will not contest the High Court’s latest decision that it was in fact acting unlawfully by applying the changes in November 2006 to all individuals that entered the United Kingdom before that date.
It is thought that at least 40,000 migrant workers could have been sent home if the government had got it’s own way.
