McDonald’s has announced it will be hiring 4,000 staff across the UK in the next three months to cope with the increase in customer numbers. They are currently getting an extra two million customers a month.
McDonald’s will open ten new restaurants this year and this will account for up to 600 new jobs with the other 3,400 coming from the need to replace students working over the summer, increased sales and longer opening hours with many branches now opening at 6am and over 100 operating 24 hours a day at the weekend. Most of the new jobs are for staff paid £5.55 an hour but there is also a need for restaurant managers.
