Further to our recent news of being able to search for part time jobs on facebook via the uktemps application we have now created a gadget which you can add to your iGoogle account.

What is iGoogle? Google offers the ability to create a personalized iGoogle page that gives you at-a-glance access to key information from Google and across the web. On this self-designed page, you can choose and organize content such as:

• Weather
• News
• Your favourite rss feeds
• Part time, temporary and contract jobs

You can now use uktemps via your facebook profile, simply install the application and browse the latest jobs via your account, if one takes your fancy then click the job title and you will be directed back to uktemps where you can apply for the job as usual.

Always thought that you had news or information that the world needs to read? I have recently discovered a tool which enables you to create a Facebook application and is currently being offered by Dapper.

It takes about 30 mins to create an account which allows facebook users to select a feed from your site (rss, xml etc.) and then with a lot of fiddling you’ve created your own web app but please do read the instructions available from their flash demos!

Because you can create custom RSS feeds from anywhere, you can create custom facebook apps that do any number of things, you can even ’scrape’ web content from pages that do not offer RSS feeds.

In short you are not just writing content for a limited few - you can create a bespoke news service.
