It has been confirmed that 100 hi-tech jobs will be created as part of a £200m data centre project for South Wales. Next Generation Date will create Europe’s largest and most technically advanced ‘green’ data-centre in Newport.

It will be only the second data centre in Wales, the other being BT’s centre in Cardiff. Data centres house the hardware, software and high speed communication connections required to run customers websites, intranets and other e-commerce facilities in a highly secure and managed environment.

Jobserve Live comes to the Newport Centre, Newport, in South Wales on March 13, from 10.30am until 7pm.

Maternity and nursery retailer JoJo Maman Bebe has said it will create 32 jobs over the next three years after opening a new warehouse in Newport.

The jobs will be primarily in the warehouse and retail operations divisions. The company has opened 22 boutique-style stors across the country in the past three years and sales generated from the website have increased 17% in the past year.

An automotive component manufacturer in Aberdare is expanding its operation and creating 50 new jobs.

Nissin Showa UK a joint venture between two Japanese multi national corporations supplies Honda’s Swindon plant with a number of parts and has now won additional work to supply the Toyota Derby plant.

Nissin Showa is extending its factory, building a range of warehouses and installing a new production line to meet this increased demand.

The investment has been supported by the Assembly Government with regional selective assistance ad will create 40 new production jobs, 10 support jobs and safeguard an existing 20 jobs.
