Tens of thousands of jobs should be created in the north west after the announcement today that 34 regional projects have been awarded a share of the government’s £1.4bn Regional Growth Fund.
The government hoped 7,800 direct jobs will be created and 39,500 indirect jobs.
PREMIER Inn has 40 jobs available in its newest hotel at Liverpool’s John Lennon Airport, and is holding a recruitment day on Wednesday, August 25 from 9am to 7pm at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Liverpool John Lennon Airport at Speke Aerodrome.
The company says there are full and part-time vacancies available in the kitchen, restaurant, reception, housekeeping and night positions.

Jamie Oliver plans to create around 360 jobs by opening four more Jamie’s Italian restaurants by summer, each offering 90 new posts.
The restaurants will be based in Leeds, opening in May; Liverpool in June; and Glasgow and London’s Covent Garden, both launching in July.

Northern England, Wales, the Midlands and Scotland have all suffered the largest rises in unemployment. It is the manufacturing and heavy industry areas that have seen most distress.
Official figures published by research consultancy the Work Foundation showed that Birmingham, Leeds, Glasgow, Sheffield, Hull, Manchester, Bradford, Kirklees, Liverpool and Bristol were the worst effected areas.
Fashion retailer Austin Reed plans to create 200 new jobs in the coming year in at least 30 new stores and concessions. New sites for the firm include Liverpool and Newcastle.
