Fancy working by the seaside? Hotel chain Travelodge is creating 2,000 new jobs in the next 18 months by opening 70 new hotels, including many at beach resorts.
The next openings, planned for this summer, are in Brighton, Worthing and Lowestoft, followed by Torquay and Blackpool later in the year. Other launches include Tunbridge Wells, Merthyr Tydfil and Cardiff Bay.
Each hotel requires managers, receptionists, bar and cafe staff and guest room cleaners.
Morrisons, the UK’s fourth largest supermarket chain, has announced plans to create 1,000 jobs at a new distribution centre in Kent.
The centre will be built near the M2 in Sittingbourne at a new development site known as G-Park. Morrisons has agreed to take a 20 year lease across a large-scale warehouse complex split across two units and they will use it to service and supply its South East stores.
Bouverie Place shopping dentre in Folkestone has signed up Body Shop, Asda Café, Sports Direct and Poundland which opened this November 2007.
These retailers join Asda superstore, Bhs, Next, HMV, Starbucks, Specsavers, Vodafone, and New Look.
