Cheltenham jobs created

Whats Local magazine will create up to 50 new jobs after raising £500,000 to help the business grow. M T Media , who owns the free magazine and telecoms provider numbers4life, has received the £500,000 in funding to create new jobs.

The 50 jobs will be created by the end of 2008 at the Cheltenham office. Roles will created in the sales and support teams, as well as IT, design and finance roles.

Credit card company cuts jobs

Barclycard is to cut 160 jobs in Northampton when it closes its credit card production. It has announced that it is to shut down its card production and statement mailing centre in Northampton.

Print production is going to be outsourced to RR Donnelley in Buckinghamshire and Gloucestershire, with mailing operations moved to Leicestershire and card operations will be moving to Hampshire.

Operations will continue at Bewer House until the end of the year and employees will then recieve a further three months on full pay so they can find alternative emploment.
