Disneyland Paris is recruiting UK staff for Christmas and next year’s summer seasons.

A team from Disneyland Paris will be looking to recruit people for opportunities in guest services, sales, attractions and food & beverage.

Disneyland Paris employs some 14,000 employees from 100 plus nations and Disneyland Paris offers opportunities in more than 500 vocations. Jobs there will provide temps with a great insight into working in Europe, especially in the tough market that people are facing in the UK at this time.

If you’d like to rub shoulders with ’superstars’ like Mickey Mouse and his famous cartoon friends, Disneyland Paris could be just the job.

Employing over 14,000 people already there are jobs as entertainers, within marketing, buying, human resources, accounting and in operations and maintenance jobs like reservation agents, boutique staff and mechanics to ensure the attractions run smoothly.

The company says that despite the tough economic climate, it has nearly 7,000 positions available this year, in around 500 trades.

Electrolux to cut jobs globally

Electrical appliances firm has announced it is to cut 3,000 jobs due to declining sales.The firm has about 600 employees in the UK and it is thought that the job cuts will take place globally and will be seen immediately.

Jobs to be created in the Air industry

Europe and Canada have signed a new trade agreement on air services that could create jobs on both sides of the Atlantic.

The European Commission announced the deal last week which will mean that airlines in the EU will operate flights directly to Canada from any airport in Europe.

The agreement comes into force in the first half of 2009 and will boost Europe’s travel recruitment industry by creating new jobs at airports across Europe that do not fly directly to Canada at the moment.

Synergy Group remains positive in 2009 due to the range of opportunities expected in the public sector next year.

David Pyle, quoted on the Recruiter website, a spokesman for Synergy Group, says that the company still expects to grow by 10% next year and by the same amount in 2010.

“We have seen a lot of growth in revenues and benefits and housing departments as a result of the economy”.

Procurement and international placements were highlighted, particularly in social work as there is a real shortage of fully vetted and qualified staff.
