125 new jobs are to be created in McDonald’s restaurants across Wales in 2012.
The new jobs come as part of at least 2,500 new jobs across the UK in 2012. The jobs will take McDonald’s UK workforce to 90,000. At least 30% of the future new jobs will be offered to young workforce who are struggling to start careers in this time of austerity.
Wetherspoons, the UK pub chain has started ti hire staff in temp jobs for Christmas. They have roles behind the bar, serving in the kitchen or waiting / serving food to customers. They have full- and part-time temporary positions, with hours to suit all. They offer excellent rates of pay, half price food while you work and you never know - there might be a perm job in it for you at the end of the festive season.
New jobs will be created across Premier Inn hotels, Beefeater Grill and Costa Coffee - all brands of the Whitbread Group. Approximately 2,500 new jobs will aim to be created by February 2012.
Jobs will be advertised through Jobcentre Plus and their own websites. The majority of the roles will be in new openings for the group. It is thought that some 500,000 temporary employment contracts could be terminated due to the Agency Worker Regulations (AWR) coming into force in October.
Work by Allen & Overy reveals that 33% of medium to large UK businesses might avoid increased costs by terminating agency worker contracts before the 1st October when the 12-week qualifying period for equal pay and benefits starts.
The InterContinental Hotels Group has jobs a plenty over the next few years. IHG is looking for front of house and key operational management to fill 3,000 new jobs.
The group will be opening 28 hotels in the Britain over the next couple of years. Examples being InterContinental in London, Stratford overlooking the Olympic park, Newcastle, Blackpool, Birmingham, Colchester, Southend, Walsall, Bristol, York and Edinburgh.
