Jobs created in West Midlands

The development of The Essington Golf Club in the West Midlands is set to create up to 50 jobs. The new club has been planned by Woodfarm Golf & Leisure and is to be built on 80 acres of land at a cost of £2 million.

It is hoped that the course and the clubhouse will open in 2010 and create opportunities for groundsmen and managers.

99p Stores set for a boom

Discount chain 99p Stores is proving such a hit with bargain hunters it intends to open eight new stores by the end of the year, creating 240 jobs. The 99p Stores provide unique range of products that are not only very affordable – but are of much higher quality than those you may find in other value shopping chains.

Currently their are 43 Stores spread throughout the UK, and everything priced at 99p or less, the first of the new range of stores opening will be in Derby’s Westfield Centre this month. Recruiting for around 30 staff has now begun and anyone interested is advised to visit the store itself or enquire at the local Jobcentre.

Orange looking to improve customer service

The mobile and broadband operator Orange is planning to cut upto 450 managers but will create 500 new jobs in stores and call centres as part of a shake-up aimed at improving customer service. Orange, owned by France Telecom, will look to open 60 new stores, increasing its nationwide total to almost 400, and stop the expansion of its offshore call centres in India.

London Olympic jobs
