Wetherspoons is hiring temporary staff for Christmas

Wetherspoons, the UK pub chain has started ti hire staff in temp jobs for Christmas. They have roles behind the bar, serving in the kitchen or waiting / serving food to customers. They have full- and part-time temporary positions, with hours to suit all. They offer excellent rates of pay, half price food while you work and you never know - there might be a perm job in it for you at the end of the festive season.

New jobs in the hospitality sector

New jobs will be created across Premier Inn hotels, Beefeater Grill and Costa Coffee - all brands of the Whitbread Group. Approximately 2,500 new jobs will aim to be created by February 2012.

Jobs will be advertised through Jobcentre Plus and their own websites. The majority of the roles will be in new openings for the group. This news is positive employment news when unemployment is at a massive high. Any news - whether it be in regard to permanent or temporary jobs - new jobs are very welcome!!

Will the Agency Workers Regulations reduce temp workers?

It is thought that some 500,000 temporary employment contracts could be terminated due to the Agency Worker Regulations (AWR) coming into force in October.

Work by Allen & Overy reveals that 33% of medium to large UK businesses might avoid increased costs by terminating agency worker contracts before the 1st October when the 12-week qualifying period for equal pay and benefits starts.

Disneyland Paris - temporary staff needed

Disneyland Paris is looking to fill 6,000 roles for next year for permanent, short-term and seasonal positions in a variety of roles including guest services, food and beverage, sales and attractions.

Recruitment events will be held in London and Cardiff.

The London event will be held on Monday 25th and Tuesday 26th October at the Hilton London Metropole from 10am each day, while the event in Cardiff will be at City Hall from 10am on the 27 October .

Jobs in Skegness

A new entertainment complex in Skegness will create at least 50 jobs.

In Skegness, Lincolnshire the four-storey building will include an ice rink, bars, cafes and even a erotic gentlemen’s club.

East Lindsey District Council has approved the project which will cost £7 million pounds. The jobs will be created by summer 2011. Many other contracting jobs will be available to the construction businesses involved in the project. The business responsible for the project is as yet unknown.
