Land Rover, the automotive manufacturer, has said that it will create 275 temporary jobs in Solihull, West Midlands.
The Recruiter reported that “the firm was looking for “skilled” manufacturing workers due to increased demand for its 2010 model year vehicles.”
Apparently the high street agency Manpower will be handling recruitment for all of the 275 temp roles.
The Department of Health’s nationwide social care recruitment campaign, shows that thousands of people are registering interest in a job in social care via the UKHCA website carejobfinder.org.
It is thought that as many as 1,000 candidates are registering on the site every day!
Hotel and restaurant group Whitbread will create 1,000 new jobs over the next year, mainly in its Premier Inns hotels and Costa Coffees.
The jobs will be at hotels opening in Preston, Lancs, Sunbury in Surrey, Burgess Hill in West Sussex, Newport in Gwent and Liverpool.
Costa Coffee outlets are opening in Newcastle, London, Glasgow, Whitstable in Kent and Bury St Edmunds in Suffolk.

Six months after opening its doors, White River Place this summer is opening a new TK Maxx store creating hundreds of new local temporary and part time jobs.
The “brands for less” retailer has exchanged on a unit over two floors to create the retailer’s second Cornish store. Since opening in October, the shopping centre has also opened a Game, Superdrug, Rowe Bakery, Wilkinson, Peacocks, New Look, Frankie & Bennys, and a new four screen cinema. This month has also seen the launch of the 69 contemporary apartments that from part of the scheme.
According to new data from The IT Jobs Board, the number of IT jobs has increased by 16% in Q1 2010 from Q4 2009.
In even better news for the temporary IT market, Contract positions increased 54% in Q1. IT managers and IT support roles are currently representing the highest proportion of jobs.
