A major national company has signed up to bring up to 1,000 workers to a new business park in Pollard Moor, Hapton.
With a minimum investment of £50 million, the unnamed public limited company plans to consolidate its operations in the Burnley area. Timescales are tight as the company intends to be up and running on the site by the end of 2010.
The development will also necessitate the building of a bridge over the Leeds and Liverpool Canal, leading off from junction 9 of M65.
The development is being hailed as a major opportunity for the Burnley area.
