According to a poll millions of people are in the wrong job. People lose an average of almost five years of career development. It has been reported, following a survey by the Skills Commission, that one in five people are currently in the wrong line of work.
The Commission said that this results in 132 million years having been spent in the wrong career. Employees are not making the best use of their skills. The Temporary and Agency Workers (Equal Treatment) Bill that has envoked controversial comment to date has been held up in government. The Bill, that would allow agency workers / staff the same rights as permanent staff, was voted to the wire and so it will now continue through committee stage whilst MPs suggest changes. Even greater uproar was caused when the Employee Relations Minister, Pat McFadden, took the decision not to vote at all.
