The Mall, Luton plans major expansion

The Mall in Luton has submitted an outline planning application to Luton Borough Council for £150m proposals to revamp and extend The Mall Luton. The Mall Arndale, Luton, is located in the centre of the town and already includes Debenhams, Boots, Marks and Spencers, WHSmith, River Island.

The proposal if approved will provide hundreds of more jobs as well as making it one of the largest shopping centres in the UK. The extension will improve the look of the Mall too and will extend shopping centre towards the railway station.

Three new retailers at Peterbourgh Queensgate Centre

Queensgate Centre in Peterborough welcomes three new shops, Paperchase has opened opposite John Lewis. The Oculist, a concept offering an optician service, consultant rooms and a range of designer glasses. Style Accessories, the designer handbag, jewellery and accessories retailer, has opened a store too. Toy Zone and Dolcis also opened during the Autumn.

A former Barbican manager looks like she could get paid out £100,000 in compensation, Nicola Adedeji has worked at the arts centre as a manager for 10 years but her contract was terminated at the start of the year.

Ms Adedeji had asked to work 2 days doing double shifts so that she could organise childcare but was turned down due to health and safety concerns…… what are your thoughts?

Hanley welcomes an extension to the Potteries Shopping Centre

Potteries Shopping Centre in Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent has finally completed its 7 month refurbishment. The £2.3m refurbishment has created an additional 15,000 sq ft of floorspace which was previously used as the centre’s food court. The space has been filled by Peacocks, Starbucks and FootAsylum, the whole area has also redesigned their ceilings, lighting and flooring.

The Potteries now has 91 stores including Primark offering thousands of jobs in the Stoke area.
