JD, Hawins Bazaar, Bank Fashion and Poundland are due to open before Christmas at the St James shopping centre in Edinburgh. The centre is anchored by John Lewis, Topshop, Next, River Island and HMW. Plenty of part time and seasonal jobs available there, check back in January for all their latest jobs.
American Apparel has opened a store in Covent Garden’s Neal Street, as well as a store in Glasgow the previous week.
The London store has two floors with womens wear at ground level and unsurprisingly (disgruntled male speaking) the menswear is in the basement. American Apparel is set to become a major retail force with the opening of a store on Oxford Steet and another one being considered in Liverpool, they now have eight stores in the UK and they have interests in 10 countries.
Peel Bay Festival has been axed in a move which will anger locals, not the finest hour of the tourism department or the event organiser.
There had been hopes that the Peel Bay Festival, already cancelled for 2008, could be resurrected the following year after Speaker Steve Rodan put forward a motion in Tynwald last week calling for the Department of Tourism and Leisure to agree a three-year business plan.
