Not another moan about Facebook!

You guessed it, another Facebook rant (I’m jealous really!), to see other facebook articles we’ve written click here.

The ICO (Information Commissioner’s Office) has warned that millions of young people could be jeopardising their future careers by revealing too much personal information about themselves on social networking sites such as facebook and myspace.

The warning followed research indicating that the majority of those consulted made their information public - though 71% of 14-21-year-olds said they wouldn’t want higher education institutes or employers to do a web search on them before they’d had a chance to remove some material! Put simply people are posting content online without thinking about the electronic impact they’re having, just imagine the undesirable information they could miss interpreted!! Be careful as employers are becoming more cautious and naturally internet savy!

What does it take to be a courier?

With all the congestion in London couriers are struggling to get around, the roads are super busy and dangerous for the road bikes, the motor bikes get just as snarled up as the vans, besides the fact that you can never park a bike as the whole of London seems to have purchased a scooter.

If you are athletic and fancy exercising as part of your job why not start your own free running courier company, see the video for some tips…

Not a serious story but one which tickled me, how do these guys do it!!

Thousands cleared to work, wrongly!

So we always hear about the high volume of illegal immigrants across the UK but where are they all working, apparently more than 6,600 illegal immigrants have been cleared to seek security jobs in the UK.

More than 4,400 others were given permits to apply for work when it was unclear whether they had permission to be employed. The SIA was set up to vet applicants, especially looking into their past for any signs of criminal activity, the successful applicants are then allowed to work on pub and club doors as well sensitive security posts.

An investigation in April this year discovered 44 people working at a security company who did not have the right to work in the UK - 12 had been subcontracted to a company that provided staff to guard locations under Metropolitan Police contracts, a rather scarey finding!
Whilst others had been guarding Government vehicles including those of our prime minister!!

UK Employment at record high!!

It has been 32 years since the number of people claiming job related benefits has been this low. Employment has reached a record high and this is great for the UK economy. Job seekers, both temporary and permanent, are finding work and the continued growth of the UK economy shows no real signs, as yet, of slumping meaning that things may get better still.
