Possible the best recruitment video ever!

We’re often asked in our opinion which are the best companies to work for, ulitmately this is decided by a number of factors but the one which also makes its way to the top of the list is environment. Environment is ultimately decided by the people around you and the dynamics of a team, below is a recruitment video which demonstrates just how close a team can get, I for one would love to work somewhere like that!!!

Royal Mail - The Christmas Job

The Christmas period creates many temp jobs especially within Royal Mail. During December the Royal Mail will employ around 20,000 additional staff, have vacancies across the country and need shift workers at every location.

So if you are looking for a temp job contact the Royal Mail.

Hiring doesn’t slow.

The recent constant talk about the credit crunch has installed as aspect of fear into the recruitment market but it seems that this is a premature as over 86% of firms surveyed announced that they were expecting to continue to hire this Autumn and winter.
Previous experience has led to companies typically holding back from recruitment rather than making redundancies in tough times and while 5% seem to think some redundancies are inevitable, this figure is down on 2006.

It would look like the recruitment market is currently riding this wave and that the usual requirements for temporary employees will be as high as ever in the last quarter of 2007 and into 2008.

Increased employment rights for temporary workers

The European Union has made it clear that it would like full employment rights after six weeks employment for all temporary and agency workers in the UK. This would mean that the many thousands of temporary workers in the UK could be handed significantly increased employment rights as Britain’s reluctance to convert to European Union labour laws comes under consistent pressure.

Retailers not that worried about Christmas

As ever, British retailers are managing their own expectations about a gloomy Christmas but a recent survey has seen only 1 in 50 claim that they think it will be worse than last year. Over 40% believe that we will see an increase in spending.
This optimism is great to job seekers ears because the increase in sales will require more people during the Christmas period - temp jobs in retail will be as in most years a great way to subsidise Christmas spending!!
