The Car industry is flourishing in the UK and from a recruitment point of view it is looking very rosey……
There are now over 40 vehicle manufacturers who are now using this country as a production base, they range from the smallest to the largest empahasising the diversity of the UK market.
We have truely international automotive sector. There is no doubt that it is the arrival of the Japanese manufacturers that have given a much-needed boost as Nissan’s Sunderland plant, Toyota’s new base in Derbyshire and Honda’s Swindon factory have started to make a massive impression on the industry. Now, the UK has modern plants, good industrial relations and a workforce that can make cars cheaply, efficiently and well.
The sector has is currently doing very well and is producing a turnover close to £50bn in 2007 and employing over 800,000 workers.
