B&Q has implemented a new employment programme for aspiring Olympians. The programme will allow Olympians and Paralympians to work part-time hours but receive a full-time salary. The company has 13 such members of staff who will work on a flexible basis and receive all the benefits of full time employment. Allowing the B&Q team to work part time is a real step forward for the athletes who struggle in todays competitive world where the hardest element of training is balancing the hours with working hours. The interesting development from the implementation of this programme is the postitve impact that this is having on employee morale and engagement across the firm.
