Wi-Fi on the buses

Passengers using a Southampton bus route can now check their emails, download music to their i-pods and surf the internet whilst on the move. One of the double decker buses regularly used on the uni-links U1 route has been fitted Wi-Fi equipment for a 20 day trial. It seems now wherever you go you can get internet acces, whether it be to surf the net, check the latest news and sport or search for part-time and temp jobs.

If this trial goes well they plan to fit the rest of the buses on the uni route with Wi-Fi equipment later in the summer. What do you think to this, a good idea?

M&S Jobs

Marks and Spencer is to create over 130 new jobs in Leeds at its new store at the city’s White Rose Shopping Centre. But it is to close its store in Dewsbury with many of the staff here expected to relocate to Leeds.

The 26,000 sq ft store is to open in late autumn this year. The new M&S store at White Rose will launch under M&S’ new signature style with contemporary interior design, easy to navigate walkways and spacious fitting rooms. It will include a wide range of fashion across womenswear, menswear and childrenswear, as well as a food hall.

There will be a wide range of vacancies avaliable at the new M&S, including both full and part-time and temp positions. Due to the store’s longer opening hours M&S will offer more flexible working hours as well as a number of specialist jobs with enhanced career opportunities including a selection of supervisory and managerial roles.

Sales lead to more Retail jobs

The continued sales on the high street have finally proved to be worth it as Retail sales rose more than three times as much as expected in July. This was specifically boosted by discounting which propelled furniture and electrical goods sales to remarkably high levels. This extended extra activity has lead to plenty of temporary jobs in the retail sector as we hit the peak of holiday season. The terrible weather in the UK has meant that more than ever, people are jetting of to warmer climes leaving gaps for temporary staff across the employment market. With the extra activity in the retail sector it means the this is a great time to look for temporary work in the retail sector.

Jobs in Australia

The current slog that everyone has to go through to work in Australia is about to get easier. They are changing their immigration policy in an attempt to entice skilled British workers to move out to Australia. Fom the 1st Spetember it will be easier to achieve the points required in the Australian immigration system. Apparently the real need falls in the requirement for additional doctors, nurses, teachers, accountants, plumbers, dentists and IT managers.
It is understood that the goverment has increased its annual target figure for skilled workers by 5,500 to 102,500 although this is still a very low figure compared to the immigration seen in the UK where European skilled workers are still coming in their droves to fill permanent and temporary jobs across the country.
