Abercrombie and Fitch is to expand across Europe mainly due to the success of their flagship store in London, shoppers seem undeterred by the UK pricing model (£1 = $1, not exactly a reflection of the strength of the pound!!!). The retailer is looking for additional London sites and then further stores in Italy, France, Germany, Spain, Sweden and Denmark.
Having personally visited one of these stores in New York I was rather shocked by their part time staff and how each and everyone of them looked like the models in the adverts (and didn’t they know it!!!), it will be interesting to see whether they apply the same strict beauty restrictions in the UK and Europe with our strict equal opportunities act.
